UltraLocked
Your Data, Your Control

Privacy Policy

UltraLocked is built on a single, uncompromising principle: your vault data is yours, and yours alone. We designed the iOS app to protect private files without account-based vault access or in-app analytics.

Effective Date: September 16, 2025•Last Updated: September 16, 2025

Our Core Commitment

Your privacy is not an afterthought; it is the core foundation of our application. Everything we've built serves this single purpose: keeping your data completely under your control.

What We DO NOT Collect

We want to be clear about the iOS app. UltraLocked does not collect, store, track, sell, or transmit vault files or vault activity.

Access Your Files

We have zero access to the photos, videos, documents, or notes you store in your vault. Everything is encrypted on your device and stays there.

Create User Accounts

UltraLocked does not require a name, email address, phone number, or any other personal information to use.

Use Third-Party Servers

Your encrypted files are stored only on your device, not on our servers or any cloud service.

Track Your Activity

The iOS app does not use analytics tools to track how you use the app or what you store in your vault.

Information Processed On Your Device

To provide its powerful security features, UltraLocked processes certain data exclusively on your device. This data never leaves your control.

Content You Store

Any files you add to your vault are encrypted and stored locally within the app's secure container.

Configuration Data

Your app settings and security preferences are stored locally on your device using UserDefaults.

Security Keys

Your PIN code and cryptographic keys are stored securely in your device's Keychain, protected by hardware.

Why We Request Permissions

UltraLocked requests certain permissions only when you choose to enable specific, advanced security features. Access is never requested without your explicit action.

Camera Access

Off by default

Purpose: To allow you to use the Secure Camera feature to capture photos and videos directly into your encrypted vault.

This ensures new media is never saved to your regular photo library and has its metadata stripped immediately.

Microphone Access

Off by default

Purpose: To enable the optional Emergency Voice Trigger feature.

Optional emergency voice detection listens for configured keywords while the app can run. Speech handling depends on the app version: older emergency and recording-transcription paths may use Apple speech services. The security update requires on-device recognition and disables these paths when unavailable.

Location Access

Off by default

Purpose: To enable the optional Location Security feature.

This restricts vault access to trusted geographical locations you define. Your location is checked only on your device and is never tracked or stored.

How We Secure Your Data

Your security is our mission. We employ multiple layers of advanced protection to ensure your data remains completely private.

Hardware-Backed Encryption

We use your device's Secure Enclave to generate and protect your encryption keys. Keys are stored in dedicated hardware so they are not exposed as ordinary app data.

On-Device Storage

Vault files and device master keys are stored on your device. Explicit exports can be saved elsewhere by you. Apple purchase services, purchase validation in older versions, and help pages may use the network; they are separate from vault storage.

Metadata Stripping

When you use the Secure Camera or Share Extension, we automatically remove all identifying metadata (EXIF data like GPS location, camera model, etc.) from photos and videos.

Secure File Deletion

Deleting an item removes it from the app. iOS flash storage does not provide a guarantee of physical overwrite or forensic irrecoverability.

Data Deletion and App Removal

You are in complete control of your data at all times.

In-App Deletion

Deleting an item removes the app’s stored copy and its metadata. Copies exported or saved elsewhere are unaffected. Flash overwrite and forensic erasure are not guaranteed.

App Deletion

iOS may retain Keychain entries after uninstall. Uninstalling is not a guaranteed key-destruction mechanism. Use the app’s explicit deletion controls before removing it; copies or exports elsewhere must be managed separately.

Children's Privacy

We do not knowingly collect any information from children under the age of 13. If you believe we have inadvertently collected such information, please contact us so we can promptly obtain parental consent or remove the information.

Changes to This Privacy Policy

We may update this policy from time to time. We will notify you of any significant changes by posting the new policy on this page and updating the "Last Updated" date.
